McGregor returns at UFC 257 amid civil lawsuit in Ireland, Class certification still awaits
Civil lawsuit filed against Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor is set to fight Dustin Poirier on Saturday night in Abu Dhabi. But, McGregor’s past continues to haunt him despite attempting to put it past him this week. McGregor is being sued in Ireland in their civil court as a result of alleged rape allegations. The New York Times reported that an acquaintance of McGregor sued the fighter and another fan after having sex with her without her consent. A criminal investigation on the matter did not produce charges against McGregor but the civil suit (which we presume has a lower standard to prove wrongdoing), might produce more facts coming out of the situation.
At UFC press conference, McGregor called the lawsuit ‘old news’ as he attempted to deflect direct questions about the situation.
Dana White vowed to go after those illegally streaming UFC PPVs. He reaffirmed those comments at the UFC press conference on Thursday. He even noted that they already got a guy. There may be some enticement for those daring as the price of PPVs has gone up $5 starting this Saturday.
